iPhone users can finally send WhatsApp messages without an internet connection – here’s how

WhatsApp has rolled-out a major new update to its hugely-successful chat app. And it might just change the way you send text messages. The latest software update, which is now available for iPhone owners, lets users send text messages – even when they do not have a wifi or mobile data connection.

At the moment, users without an internet connection are able to draft a reply message in the text field, but are unable to press the send button until the smartphone reconnects.

Following the update, “messages will be queued up and sent when your phone regains a connection,” WhatsApp clarifies in the App Store listing.

It’s a small tweak, but one that should prove immensely useful for those trying to use WhatsApp in areas with patchy internet connections.
