US – Talk show host Larry King dies at 87
Long time CNN host, Larry King, who carved his way into being an icon through his interviews, dies at 87. His son, Chance, confirmed King’s death on Saturday. The company he co-founded, Ora Media, did not state a cause of death but media reports state that King had been battling Covid19 for weeks.
The renowned host interviewed iconic leaders and celebrities during his career spanning six decades. He became a household name with his CNN show Larry King Live that ran from 1985 to 2010. He received an Emmy award for lifetime achievement in 2011. 50,000 on air interviews were conducted by him.
King had also interviewed all the presidents of the United States and, other world leaders like Vladimir Putin, and tons of celebrities.
King struggled with a number of health problems, suffering several heart attacks. In 1987, he underwent quintuple bypass surgery, inspiring him to establish the Larry King Cardiac Foundation to provide assistance to those without insurance
