United Kingdom – every adult could be offered a vaccine by mid-July
Britain could have enough coronavirus vaccines to give jabs to more than 500,000 people each day next week under plans to dramatically accelerate the UK vaccine programme that was revealed in a government document.
The plan included detailed figures for the number of vaccine that would be supplied to Scotland by the United Kingdom each week until the end of May. The UK government objected, saying the publication of the figures would create difficulties for the pharmaceutical companies, and the offending page was removed quickly.
The Scottish government which published its vaccination plan on Wednesday stated that Britain should have enough Covid vaccines to inoculate most of the 15 million most vulnerable people that the government is aiming to offer the shot by mid-February.
2.2 million people in the United Kingdom have been given their first dose of the vaccine according to the government data and about 400,000 second doses have also been administered.
