UK PM says new variant may be more dangerous
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the new variant of Covid19 may be more risky to deal with and also be associated with higher level of mortality. However, evidence states that the vaccines that are being used in the country are almost effective.
Data published recently states that around 5.5 million people have been given their first doze of the Covid19 vaccine. Scotland and England have already announced their latest pandemic restrictions in early January to curb a surge in the disease started by the new variant of the coronavirus, which is highly transmissible.
United Kingdom has recorded more than 3 million infections and around 95,999 deaths which happens to be the world’s fifth highest.
