The country is a month into its third national lockdown, and while death rates and hospitalization numbers have declined in recent days, medics are still battling high levels of infections

A total of 10,021,471 people have had a first jab and 498,962 have had two doses, according to government data up to the 2 February.

And figures from the start of the week show that nearly nine in 10 over-80s and half of over-70s have had their first jab.
