UAE: Sharjah mandates PCR testing for entry into govt departments

Sharjah on Wednesday announced updates for the precautionary measures to enter government entities and departments in the emirate.

According to the updated measures, all employees who have received two doses of any vaccine and the booster doses must conduct a COVID-19 PCR test every 14 days in order to be allowed to enter the facility with a negative result.

As for the non-vaccinated, the vaccinated who did not receive the booster doses, those who received a single dose and the groups excluded from vaccination, they must conduct a COVID-19 PCR test every 7 days, to be allowed to enter the facility with a negative result.

Any employee who fails to abide by the previous two clauses would be prevented from entering the facility and considered out of work.

He/she must provide his/her reasons for non-compliance with regulations, and in case the excuse is accepted, the days of absence will be cut from the annual leave.
