UAE residents warned about new financial scam
A new scam has surfaced in Abu Dhabi involving individuals who contact citizens and pose as representatives of national institutes. They also claim to represent local and global events.
The Abu Dhabi Police issued a warning on Facebook stating that scammers are contacting residents and informing them that they have won fake prizes.
Brigadier General Omran Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Acting Director of Criminal Investigation Directorate in the Criminal Security Division, stressed the importance of spreading awareness among the community about such scams.
He urged citizens not to respond to these scam phone calls. He added that these fraudsters ask their victims about their bank account or credit card details.
