In the midst of a soaring pandemic, Sushyanth Sridhar brings us his debut novel

A 19-year-old mechanical engineering student at the National Institute of Technology, Sushyanth Sridhar is an Indian expat and released his debut novel in the psychological/historical genre. Locked in his home in the city of Chennai during the pandemic, last year in March, Sushyanth dived into understanding the psychosis disorder. Having been an avid Model United Nations (MUN) delegate and director through school and college, Sushyanth kindled his interest in world politics and history. His years’ of experience as a delegate and knowledge on the psychosis disorder contributed to the construction of his debut novel, JON OLIVER.

In the midst of a soaring pandemic, Sushyanth Sridhar brings us his debut novel

Jon, a young musician and reveller in Central London, embarks on a family vacation in Malaysia. Having spent his whole childhood as a victim of a psychosis disorder, Jon’s illness worsens through his holiday and he eventually hits bedrock.

Is he a retired wing-commander, or a young musician?

Is he in London or Malaysia?

Is it 2018 or 1931?

Is it real or unreal?

Simultaneously, in Jonathan’s mind, it is the year 1931, a fascist movement is looming in London. Finn Larsen, a leader of organised crime in London, joins hand with an underground fascist syndicate to immortalize his power. Gin Oliver, a retired wing-commander nearing a midlife crisis, assembles a militia of World War veterans and swears to wipe-out Finn Larsen’s influence and curb the fascist movement. The struggle to protect the country unwinds into anarchism and leaves Gin in a predicament.
