Statue of Unity & Soho House in TIME’s 100 most famous places 2019 list
Time lately published a list of World’s 100 greatest places to visit in 2019. The listing comprises places to stay, places to eat and places to visit. And getting India proud, The Statue of Unity has done it to the list.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s icon or known as the Statue of Unity dwells in Gujarat. Sardar Vallabhai Patel was the preeminent Home Minister of Independent India. His sculpture is the world’s tallest statue attaining at a height of 182 meters.
The piece is positioned at the bank of Narmada River viewing the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The statue was initiated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018, on the 143rd birth ceremony of Patel.
To yield the interesting news, PM Narendra Modi took to his official Twitter account and communicated, “Excellent news vis-à-vis the ‘Statue of Unity’- it finds a spot in the @TIME 100 greatest places 2019 list. And, a few days back, a record 34,000 people visited the site in a single day. Glad that it is emerging as a popular tourist spot!”
Twitter is inundated with celebratory messages.
Apart from the Statue of Unity, another famous Indian point made it to the record. Soho House Mumbai inn also made an exhibition in the list of greatest spots to visit.
