Qatar to get first batch of COVID-19 vaccine tomorrow

The first batch of a vaccine against COVID-19 is due to arrive in Qatar on Monday, Qatari Prime Minister Khalid Bin Khalifa has said.

Khalid, who is also the interior minister, added that he has directed health authorities to make the vaccine available to everyone in Qatar.

“This is an important step on the way of containing the pandemic and bringing life back to normal gradually,” he said on his Twitter account.

The prime minister did not specify the name of the vaccine or the date of initiating vaccinations in the country.

Qatar so far has registered a total of 141,858 virus cases and 243 related fatalities.
