Qatar changes operations of COVID-19 vaccination drive-through facilities
Qatar has said it will change the operating hours of drive-through centres for vaccinations against COVID-19 due to the summer heat.
The Health Ministry said that as Qatar approaches the peak of summer months, starting from Sunday, the operating hours will change to 4pm to midnight daily at the Lusail and Al Wakra drive-through vaccination centres.

“By limiting the operating hours to the late afternoon and evenings, members of the public using the drive-through centres will be able to enjoy the best possible user experience while the wellbeing of all staff will also be maintained,” the ministry said.
The two centres provide the second doses of the vaccines against COVID-19. More than 302,000 people have so far benefitted from the service, according to the ministry.
Qatar, a country of about 2.7 million population, started mass vaccinations against COVID-19 last December. At least 2.748 million doses have since been administered, according to the latest figures from the Qatari Health Ministry.
