Punishment for parents who refrain from vaccinating their child
The head of the Child Rights Protection Office at the Ministry of Health, Dr Mona Al-Khwari said that criminal punishment would be given to parents who refuses or does not initiate to vaccinate his child, according to the instructions issued by the competent medical authorities.
Dr. Mona Al-Khwari stressed the importance of child vaccinations and reminded that it is the duty of every mother, father or the guardian of the child to provide vaccination on time.
The Article 83 of the Child Protection Law 2015/2015 stipulated that a punished of imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months and fine not exceeding one thousand dinars, or one of these two penalties will be given to the guardian or legally responsible person of the child in case he has not initiated immunization with vaccinations in accordance with the regulations and instructions issued by the competent medical authorities.
She said that the authority received some cases were received where some guardians were refraining from vaccinating their children with the specified dates.
