Pakistan: 4 lost their lives, 15 admitted to hospital for sniffing toxic gasses coming from veggie bins in Karachi
Since inhaling fumes gasses from a veggie bin in Pakistan’s port city Karachi, police replied, at least four people were killed and 15 were hospitalized.
The tank was offloaded on Sunday night from a cargo vessel in the station area of Kemari.
“The preliminary investigation found that the container gases stemmed from it as soon as the individuals from the Jackson market opened, and people were having trouble breathing and fell unconscious,” DIG Sharjeel Kharal told journalists.
“They were brought to a private infirmary neighboring, where four people died while 15 are being examined,” Kharal added.
He stated authorities have been collecting information from the port officials as well as the Pakistani navy about the cargo vessel.
