Oman announces new restrictions for 2 weeks
The Supreme Committee in charge of dealing with the pandemic has issued a new set of decisions.
- There will be a reduction of employees required to work from offices in the units of the state’s administrative apparatus and other public companies to 50 per cent of the total number of employees. The rest of them will work remotely without coming to the workplace.
- Friday prayers will not be held anymore while daily prayers will continue, provided that the number of worshipers does not exceed 50 per cent of the capacity of the venue and prayers are held in accordance with other precautionary controls announced by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
- Conferences and exhibitions will be postponed and all activities of a public nature will also have to be postponed or held in the absence of spectators, with mandatory controls for all participants, including proof of vaccination.
These decisions will be applicable for a period of two weeks.
