In an attempt to reduce the amount of nominal workers in the area, and in line with coherent requests to fix the demographic imbalance, the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has determined to halt the reinstatement of Article-18 permits for low-cadre private sector expatriate employees over 60 months of age.

The choice will not impair those seeking higher educational degrees, as per local daily Arabic reports. This includes doctors, engineers, journalists, legal consultants, specialists, executive directors, partners in the private business, and many others who invest heavily in different places.

They’ll be excluded on the basis of their labour market results. The employees presumed to be impacted by this policy will be mainly clerical personnel, drivers, and mandoubs (company members), assuming that those younger than 60 years will be more involved.
