New-Zealand confirmed as one of the finalists in WTC

Ater the postponement of the South Africa-Australia Test series, New Zealand were confirmed as one of the finalists of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship, leaving one spot up for grabs for all of India, England and Australia.

CC World Test Championship: Despite their tour of South Africa getting postponed due to Covid-19 fears, Australia are not out of the race for the Lord’s final. The 4-Test series between India and England will determine which of these 3 sides will join New Zealand in the final in June.

It’s a straightforward equation for India. Team India will have to win at least 2 matches out of the upcoming 4 and not lose the other two matches of the series. They can qualify even with a 2-1 result against England in the home series.

Team England, too, has a chance to play the WTC final, although the equation for them is quite tough. England’s PCT ( percentage of points) at the moment is 68.7% and they need 87 points from the series against India to be at the Lord’s final.
