Nepali domestic worker commits suicide in Kuwait

A Nepali migrant worker has committed suicide in Kuwait.

The deceased has been identified as Gokul Prasad Tamang of Panchthar district. Tamang, 35, committed suicide by hanging himself in his own room.

The Ministry of Interior received information through its control room that an expat had committed a suicide in an apartment in Mangaf area.

A security team was immediately dispatched to the location to which they found that a Nepali citizen (born in 1984) had committed suicide by hanging in his apartment fromt he ceiling. The body was referred to forensics department and case has been registered in Abu Halifa criminal case no: 44/2020

He had been working in Seven Burgers Company based in Mangaf region. The reason behind committing suicide is yet to be investigated, said Nepali Embassy in Kuwait.

The Embassy said it is coordinating with the concerned company to get details including how long he had been working for the company.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
