MetGala2020 theme revealed; Indian Netizen are waiting to see what Priyanka and Deepika are wearing
The concept of the most lavish Met Gala fashion event in the world has been announced. The 2020 Met Gala, which could take place on the first Monday of May, could have another special concept.
As per the New York Times, the yearly show will be opened on 7 May 2020 with the theme ‘ About Time: Style and Length. ‘ As for the gala, it will take place on 4 May 2020.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute would present a collection founder-chaired by Nicolas Ghesquière, Anna Wintour, Emma Stone, the creative director of Louis Vuitton, who is the brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton, Meryl Streep, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The show will be influenced by the perception of time and will also draw inspiration from Virginia Woolf and the mysterious French ideas of philosopher Henri Bergson from the early 20th generation.
The Met will also mark its 150th birthday this year and will display 160 pieces of female fashion patterns from the last 150 generations.
Andrew Bolton, director of the Costume Industry, said to the magazine, “I wanted to do a collection-focused show, but not a typical masterpiece exhibition. Something that interacts with the modern, and what people are talking about though. It’s time.”
He further said, “Fashion is indelibly linked to time. It not only represents and expresses the spirit of the times, but it also evolves and grows with the key moments.”
In 2019, the Indian personalities who attended Met Gala were Isha Ambani, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, with the husband Nick Jonas and Lilly Singh. We can’t wait to see how celebrities view the theme for their ensembles!
