Kuwait’s total infections nearing 100,000
Kuwait today confirmed 385 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, a decrease of 136 cases compared to the tally reported the day before, taking the country’s overall infections to 99,434.
Three more deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, raising Kuwait’s fatality tally due to the disease to 584, the Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad said in an update. There are 98 patients receiving intensive care treatment.
Also, Twenty-six judges in Kuwait have contracted the coronavirus. The infections come days after 10 Kuwaiti lawmakers reportedly caught the virus. Some of the infected judges caught the virus after coming in touch with other patients.
“These infections will not hamper court hearings, but may delay them because the judge delegated to offset the shortage has other sessions and needs longer time to hold two sessions in the same day.”
Health Ministry to conduct virus-detecting swabs on other judges to get reassured about their well-being.
Kuwait’s total virus tests have reached 707,292 after 2,263 tests have been done over the past 24 hours. The ministry said that the overall recoveries in Kuwait have risen to 90,168 after 670 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
