Kuwaiti couple succumb to COVID-19 in Turkey
A Kuwaiti man and his wife died after contracting the coronavirus in Turkey, a relative has said.
Abdulatif Sayad, 52, and his 49-year-old wife Dalal Awwad travelled to Turkey nearly two months ago, her brother Salah told Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai.
“But a week ago, they felt unwell and went to a hospital in the Turkish city of Bursa where they were admitted into the ICU for having been infected by the coronavirus,” he added. The coupled died later.
“Both were in good health and didn’t suffer from any disease such as diabetes, hypertension or asthma. But this is Allah’s will,” he said. Bodies of the deceased couple were flown to Kuwait for burial.
Kuwait on Sunday registered 538 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours. The total number of cases increased to 131,743 and the death toll reaches 811 with 3 new fatality.
In the last 24 hours, 687 cases were recovered making the total recovery to 122,576
Those currently receiving treatment at hospitals reached 8,356 patients.
