Kuwait Traffic officers punished for issuing citations against citizens and expatriates
Kuwait’s commissioned and non-commissioned deputies at the traffic division placed top among deputies of other ministry departments for being investigated at the Department of inquiry and supervision in 2018, as grievances against them were received related to arbitrary issuance of traffic charges against residents and expats.
According to a local record, more than 100 deputies and non-commissioned administrators at the traffic department were gathered and questioned after receiving objections that they had arisen arbitrary charges against civilians and expatriates.
One statement also added that the inquiries exposed that a number of charges were wicked, while some officers faced penalties for misapplication of authority.
The specialists said traffic deputies are more interactive with the citizens and are more observed on the street due to the nature of their job in the area, so for them to rank first in being examined does not weaken the efficiency of workers in the division.
