Kuwait To Continue Lockdown In Farwaniya, Jleeb And Mahboulla Area
Kuwait cabinet today, Thursday, decided to continue the lockdown in Farwaniya, Jleeb and Mahboulla area. The lifting of the lockdown on these areas will be decided by the health authorities.
The Cabinet decided today, Thursday, to start the second stage of the plan for the gradual return to normal life, and to amend the partial ban timing from 8 pm until 5 am starting from next Tuesday, 30 June 2020.
Kuwait health authorities have detected 909 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, according to health officials. Health Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad as saying that Kuwait’s total number of cases now stands at 42,788.
All the new cases were in contact with previously infected people or are being investigated for sources of infection, the Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad said. Additionally, two more deaths stemming from the virus were reported. Kuwait’s total Covid-19 death toll now stands at 339.
Jleeb Area reported 60 cases, Saad Al Abdullah 54, Tayma 53, Qaser 42, Hawally 32 and Farwaniya 28 cases.
Since the coronavirus emerged in China late last year and spread worldwide, more than 9.4 million people have contracted it, according to Johns Hopkins. The university has tallied more than 482,914 deaths from the disease it causes, COVID-19.
