Kuwait: The Public Authority for Manpower prepares list of expats above 60 years
The Public Authority for Manpower has begun preparing a database for all those who have reached the age of 60 years and above without university degree to implement the decision of stopping the work permit renewal.
According to Al Rai Arabic report, the total number of expatriate workers in this category is 68,318.
Regarding those whose work permit has expired during this period, the daily reported that the worker, who has reached fifty-nine and above, can renew and transfer for only one year. The goal is to give the worker time to prepare to leave the country by next year.
Meanwhile, due to exceptional cases of stranded expats the Ministry of Interior will extend residence and visit visa for a period of 3 months starting from September 1st. There will be no need for expatriates to review the residency departments, as their visas will be automatically renewed for everyone.
The ministry has expanded the online services available to encourage social distancing and curtail the spread of COVID-19. Foreign residents in Kuwait can now transfer their visas from one passport to another, modify their names in English, and renew family and sponsor residencies online.
