Kuwait resolves woes of 105 unpaid Indian port workers
The Kuwaiti Public Authority for Manpower swung into action after what was reported about 105 Al Shuaiba port workers from India who had not been paid salaries since June.
The Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Sibi George, confirmed that the Indian embassy provides all necessary services to its citizens and is constantly working with the authorities in Kuwait to address and solve issues that any Indian may face.
The PAM staff went to the residence of 105 workers in Mangaf area to resolve the problem as they had received complaints.
PAM stated that the complaint was about failure to pay salaries, residence/visa not being renewed and passports which the company was holding in addition to inadequate housing.
The employer’s file has already been partially suspended due to the end of the contract and failure to pay workers. Legal representatives of the company were called to resolve the dispute in accordance with the legal framework.
