Kuwait reports 77 new cases of coronavirus, Total 556

Kuwait’s health ministry on Sunday announced 77 new coronavirus cases, bringing to 556 the total number of infections reported in the country.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said that 1 case is for a Kuwaiti related to travel to France.

Another 2 Kuwaiti citizen through contact with confirmed cases, others include

58 Indians

8 Pakistanis

3 Bangladeshi

2 Egyptians

1 Iranian,

These were in contact with other confirmed cases. Authorities are investigating the source of infection for another two Indians who are tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of six patients from the coronavirus, raising the number of the cured in the country to 99.

Kuwait reported on Saturday the first death case of COVID-19.

Kuwait has imposed strict measures to curb the coronavirus outbreak, which include implementing an 11-hour nationwide curfew and halting all international flights.

Kuwaiti authorities have repeatedly urged citizens to follow guidelines and instructions given by local entities and the World Health Organisation, such as maintaining social distancing and home quarantine measures.

Coronavirus numbers worldwide more than 1,213,024 people have contracted the virus and 65,652 have died.
