Kuwait: PCR test exempted for kids below age 6 and quarantine plan for the Medical Sector
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced that, based on the updates of the health authorities, passengers arriving at Kuwait International Airport who are under the age of 6 years are exempted from the PCR examination for COVID-19.
Adult passengers should carry PCR test for COVID-19 proving that they are free from corona virus, the certificate should not exceed 72 hours between the test date and arriving date to Kuwait.
Also, The Ministry of Health intends to implement a new quarantine mechanism for the health sector workers who are in contact with coronavirus patients.
Sources say that, if the swab test result is negative, the medical staff — doctors, nurses, technicians and health inspectors are isolated at home for seven days starting from the date of the last contact with the patient and then they will resume work.
If the result is positive, they are isolated for a period of 10 days from the date of the swab test, the source said. On the other hand, the ministry is currently developing a mechanism to determine the employment status of its workers who have been unable to return due to the coronavirus crisis.
Kuwait on Tuesday registered 857 new cases of Covid-19 in last 24 hours. The total number of cases have increased to 91,244 and the death toll stands at 548.
