Kuwait: No dependent visa for expats above 18 and work permits on Family Visa
The Public Authority for Manpower will issue a decision to stop granting of work permits to expatriates who hold family visas (Article 22) who wish to convert to work permits.
Sources said that dependent Visa would not be extended to children above 18 years of age. Those who have completed their studies will have to leave the country except those who are pursuing their further studies.
In past children up to the age of 21 were permitted, but now the age will be reduced to 18 years, where they will have to leave immediately except those who are studying outside and inside Kuwait. This rule is particularly for those who have completed 18 yrs of age and are not enrolled in any school or Colleges/Universities.
The Manpower Authority along with the Ministry of Interior will issue a decision in the interest of modifying the existing demographics. Public Authority for Manpower is expected to issue the official circular in this regard.
