Kuwait: Direct flight from all countries expected to start by January
Direct flights to and from Kuwait International Airport with all countries, including the 34 banned countries, is expected to start from January, local newspaper Al-Qabas reported quoting a reliable source.
According to report, in coming days, Health authorities will assess the return of domestic workers’ trips to the country, including their institutional quarantine inside Kuwait, and accordingly will take a call on resuming direct flights for all.
The decision depends on various factors such as the arrival of Corona vaccine, management of the quarantine process by hotels and local institutions, in addition to the activities of civil aviation, daily added quoting the source.
The daily added that the Ministry of Health is currently waiting for a number of return trips of domestic workers in order to be able to assess the success of it.
Meanwhile, the travel offices and hotels sectors called on the concerned authorities to reduce the period of mandatory institutional quarantine to between 5 – 7 days instead of 14 days, especially since the passengers are coming with a PCR certificate.
