Kuwait Amnesty period for visa violators extended till 31st January,2021. Expats who have overstayed in the country without valid residency permit (Iqama) or are otherwise undocumented will be allowed to leave the country without paying fines and will be allowed re-entry in the future, the new decree stated.
Earlier, Kuwait had announced amnesty for those who wish to correct their residency status or leave the country by paying fine and without legal cases from December 1st to December 31st.
Kuwaiti Authorities announced that the deadline is extended till January 31st and whoever did not use this opportunity will be subjected to legal action followed by deportation.
Currently, 3.3 million expatriates live in Kuwait, constituting 70 per cent of the total population of 4.7 million in Kuwait.
