Kuwait: 70,000 expats to leave next year as no renewal for above 60

More than 70,000 expatriates are expected to leave Kuwait next year as the authorities stop renewing residence of expatriates above 60 years of age without graduation certificate.

Authorities confirmed that starting from Jan 1st 2021, residency permit for expats above 60 years without graduation certificate will not be renewed.

There is no return, no exception, or amendment to the decision, authorities confirmed. Those who meet the conditions and regulations for joining a family who has children working in Kuwait can transfer to the family visa under their children.

According to sources, about 70,000 expatriates will be effected with this decision and will be leaving Kuwait.
