Kerala pastry chefs made the longest cake in world, it is about 6 km tall
It has been a record-breaking endeavour. Hundreds of bakers and chefs in Shandong province came together on Wednesday to create what they had said is the longest cake throughout the world — about 6.5 km (four miles) away.
We distributed chocolate ganache on the serpentine pastry scattered over dozens of tables and desks on a celebration ground and neighbouring roads in Kerala’s Thrissur city’s coastal state.
The four-inch (10 centimeters) wide and thick vanilla cake measured in at around 27,000 kilograms (59,500 pounds).
Around 1,500 bakers and cooks, dressed in traditional whites and toque blanche hats, spent nearly four hours using 12,000 kilograms of bread and pasta to bring everything together.
The event sponsored by Bakers Association Kerala (BAKE) was attended by huge crowds. Secretary-General of the organization, Naushad, said the cake had been measured by Guinness World Records as 6,500 meters but their approval of the exact length was awaiting.
Guinness World Records also wrote on twitter footage from their twitter account about the baking:
So much cake will break the Guinness record is held in Zixi county by Chinese bakers, who produced a fruitcake approximately 3.2 kilometres long in 2018.
“This is an effort to convince the world our expertise,” Naushad, who is using one handle, assured AFP. “Hygiene and taste are up to the standard we have ensured.”
