Kenya : 10 killed and many injured after vehicle runs over explosive
A local official in northeastern Kenya says at least 10 people are dead after their vehicle ran over an explosive device on a highway Monday morning. North Eastern regional commander George Seda said the blast occurred outside Mandera town.
It is not clear how many people were in the vehicle, which local media say was a matatu, a type of privately owned shared taxi or minibus. Witnesses said the number killed could rise because others have been seriously injured.
North Eastern new regional commander George Seda said no arrest was made after the incident but teams were on the ground to pursue those behind the bombing. He said the incident happened about eight kilometers from Mandera Town and response teams had evacuated those injured.
