Jawan on poll duty in Bengal’s Howrah killed as fellow jawan opens fire
An Assam Rifles jawan, Lakshmikant Barman who was on a poll duty in Bengal’s Howrah district, on Thursday opened fire, killing another jawan and injuring two others, in a case of alleged fratricide.
The accused jawan allegedly fired 18 rounds at the camp located in Bagnan.
The deceased Assam Rifles jawan has been identified as ASI Bholanath Das. The two other injured have been identified as Anil Rajbanshi and Rantu Mani.
The accsued jawan Lakshmikant Barman has been taken into custody.
