Iran welcomes US bureau to assist with crash probe
Iran asked the U.S. incident investigation body to assist in the review of such a Ukrainian passenger jet outside Tehran this week’s disaster.
On Thursday, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said that it would “consider the involvement in the case.”
U.S. sanctions on Iran could limit the scope of the role of the NTSB.
Under guidelines set by an aeronautical institution of the United Nations, the NTSB has the right to engage in the examination because the collision involved a Boeing 737-800 jet designed and manufactured in the United States.
