As Pakistan celebrates its 71st Independence Day on Monday, an Indian singing group has given it a beautiful present by singing an A capella version of Pak Sarzamin, the neighbouring country’s national anthem.

At the beginning of the two-minute video, the group members are seen holding placards that say that they want to dedicate a song to Pakistan. “A song about faith, pride and grandeur, of power, progress and perfection,” read the placards.

The seven-member group, Voxchord, then go on to voice the national anthem of Pakistan sans any instrumental accompaniment.

The monochrome video of the beautiful Pak Sarzamin rendition put up by Voice of Ram channel on Friday has already garnered more than 120,000 hits on YouTube.

The group’s gesture was appreciated by Pakistani media. “Free of any instruments, the song is quite a treat to listen to,” Dawn reported.
