Indian citizens rescued at Myanmar by Arakan Army
Two Indian nationals who had been captured by the Arakan Army had been released in Myanmar. Arrangements are in place to bring the two back to India.
“Indian nationals have been released and the Consular General of Sittwe is organizing their movement from Kyauktaw,” sources said here.
The two Indian nationals were taken into captivity by an insurgent group called the Arakan Army in Myanmar while they were on their way to work on a road project.
According to reports, the Myanmar MP was also caught by the party. The Indian team is working on a road project linking Mizoram to the Sittwe Port in the Rakhine state of Myanmar, sources said.
