India : Vaccination for Children aged 15-18 begins
Vaccination opened for teens in the 15 to 18 age group today amid a surge of Covid cases in multiple cities. Over 8 lakh teens have registered on the government’s CoWin portal and all will get a dose of Covaxin.
Potential beneficiaries began registering themselves on the Co-WIN portal from January 1, 2022, or they can also avail of a walk-in registration when vaccination commences from today. Those with the birth year of 2007 or before will be eligible for vaccination under this category, the official release by the Health Ministry said.
Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin was approved for emergency usage in children by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
