India: GC Murmu pledge as First Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of J&K
Girish Chandra Murmu exercised vow as the lieutenant governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday as J-K formally lost its statehood and was spilled into pair UTs- Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh at midnight Wednesday.
Mr. Murmu was declared in by chief justice of the Jammu and Kashmir high court Gita Mittal in a commemoration at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on Thursday.
The verification of Murmu’s post was viewed out by Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam.
A 1985 batch IAS officer from Gujarat, Murmu worked as an expenditure administrator at the Centre before have been appointed as Lieutenant Governor of J&K.
