India: Full dress practice at Rajpath, For 71st Republic Day parade
Hundreds of pedestrians were struggling to achieve their destinations as several roads were closed in view of the rehearsal of the Republic Day outfit.
Metro facilities for passengers were accessible but the entrance and exit gates at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat platforms were locked.
Also for Republic Day, no vehicles will be permitted on Rajpath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 6 pm on Saturday until Sunday’s parade comes to an end.
The movement on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Subhash Marg will not be permitted in both directions from 5 am on Sunday. Cross-traffic will be only allowed based on ceremony activity.
In this year’s Constitution Day procession, the historic stepwell of the Walled City of Jaipur and Gujarat throughout Patan, both a UNESCO world heritage site and the 550th anniversary of Sikhism creator Guru Nanak Dev will be displayed thematically amongst the host of paintings.
Jammu and Kashmir take part in the show as a Union Territory for the very first time.
