India: Agra’s taj mahal weekly closure flusters couples on Valentines Day
Valentine’s Day is a day in which couples express their feelings for each other and Agra is one of the couples ‘ favorite destinations. This year, though, couples ‘ wish to spend Valentine’s Day at the Taj Mahal could not be satisfied since the Taj Mahal remain closed, as it is Friday.
Since the Taj was closed, locations around the monument from where the Taj could be seen were filled with couples. Mehtab Bagh, the historical garden right behind the Taj Mahal, across the Yamuna became the favorite place for couples to hang out, enjoying the balmy weather, expressing their mutual love in the shadow of the Taj Mahal.
The cafes, from where the Taj Mahal is noticeable, have received massive footfall from couples enjoying Valentine’s Day to have a nice meal.
Ironically, some of the other Agra sites, which were accessible on Friday, were packed with domestic people, and high numbers of international tourists weren’t even noticeable.
