India: 2 killed in tarn taran explosion, Number of deaths are higher than expected
At least two people have been killed in an outbreak near a village in Tarn Taran area, Punjab, but it is feared the number of deaths will be twice as high.
As per SSP Dhruv Dahiya, one eyewitness said that as many as 15 people were dead and three were seriously wounded.
During a nagar kirtan — a spiritual precession — near Pahu village, Tarn Taran, the explosion took place when firecracker sparks fell on a trolley carrying more crackers.
A footage shot at the accident site demonstrates the vehicle going to stand on a paper-strewn road, and a cloud of smoke near a victim’s deadly remains, encompassed in cloth.
Tractor-trolley pieces were blown away clean from the engine.
