In Mumbai, 67 ft Christmas tree is controlled by Alexa Assistance
Douglas Saldanha, a landscape interior designer from Mumbai’s Worli, illuminated a 67-foot Christmas tree with about 50,000 lights in honor of his late sister Twila, out of which 192 smart bulbs can be powered by Alexa’s speech.
Alexa, a virtual assistant who comes with smart speakers from Amazon Echo, makes the setup amazing. Visitors on Alexa’s orders can match the color of these smart lights to match their choice, such as “Alexa, change the magic tree to pink.”
The garden of Douglas at Adarsh Nagar, Worli is open to the public until next year, January 6. For those who want to click an image with the Alexa powered Christmas tree, he also arranged a photo studio.
He is also coordinating three parties, something that was just organized for 145 underprivileged children in December, where he got influential policymakers to offer developmental accessories such as school bags with books for exercises and compass containers.
Douglas is holding a Christmas party for children on December 28 and a New Year celebration for his colony’s older people on January 2.
