Haiti gang demands $17 Million for kidnapped U.S. missionaries

A gang that kidnapped 17 members of a U.S.-based missionary group is demanding $1 million ransom per person.

U.S. officials and FBI agents are helping authorities in Haiti to look for the 12 adults and 5 children who were kidnapped on Saturday during a visit to an orphanage.

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said, that the FBI was “part of a coordinated U.S. government effort to free the missionaries. The U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince was coordinating with local officials and the families of the hostages.”
