Global Covid19 related deaths close to 5 million
The global coronavirus caseload has topped 231.1 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.73 million and vaccinations soared to over 6.04 billion, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. and the U.K. have been seeing a rise in the number of people dying of coronavirus disease. Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. have climbed to an average of more than 1,900 a day for the first time since early March, while the United Kingdom has seen 160,000 fatalities so far.
