From 10th March Expatriates’ residency data will be on civil ID cards
Kuwait City: The authorities in Kuwait will start implementing the regulations governing expatriates’ residency on Sunday (March 10), according to Al Anba.
Under the new regulations, the residency visa stickers on passports will be cancelled and replaced by expatriates’ civil ID cards, which will feature all necessary data.
Expatriates will then be allowed to enter Kuwait through all exits with their civil ID cards, provided that they have valid passports and ID cards.
The Egyptian consulate in Kuwait issued a statement confirming that it had been updated about the new residency regulations which will take effect in less than a week.
The smart card chip features all details about the expatriate’s judicial records, date of expiry of residency and other useful information.
The renewal and the payment of the ID card fees will be processed online.
