Former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav states: “Ram Jethmalani’s demise loss for nation, legal fraternity”

JD national chairman Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday gave “sincere tributes” to ex-union diplomat and perceived jurist Ram Jethmalani, with whom he had accorded a special bond which finally resulted in a legislative collaboration.

Ram Jethmalani, who exhaled his last on Sunday forenoon at 96, was a sitting member of the Rajya Sabha from Bihar.

Previously allied with the BJP and a member of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee ministry, he got chosen to the Upper House for the sixth course in 2016 on an RJD party.

“Saddened by the demise of Shri #RamJethmalani, former Law Minister, @RJDforIndia MP and a stalwart lawyer. He was an institution in himself. His demise is a great loss to the nation and legal fraternity. Sincere tributes to him and condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace”, Lalu ji, who is in Ranchi completing sentences in fodder scam trials, tweeted.

The ex-bihar chief minister’s verified the Twitter account is managed by people close to laluji.

Prominently, Jethmalani was one of Prasad’s advice in the fodder scam case. While still a Rajya Sabha member on a BJP candidate, he had canvassed for the Grand Alliance involving the RJD, the JD(U) and the Congress.

His settled up his membership of the Rajya Sabha just forward of the expiry of his fifth term in 2016 and was immediately re-elected to the Upper House with the aid of Lalu Prasad, whose party had replaced with the enormous tally in the state association the year ahead.
