According to an official statistics issued by the Central Statistical Bureau on the labor market, the total labor force in the country by the end of December 2021, in both the private and public sectors, is 1.8 million.

In the previous year, the number was 1.993 million.

While the number of Kuwaiti workers in the labor market increased, the number of non-Kuwaiti workers marked a decrease of around 134,000 workers from the previous year.

The number of Kuwaiti workers in the Kuwaiti labor market increased to 430,128 workers over the previous year, which led to an increase in the percentage of Kuwaiti workers in the total labor market to about 22.8% compared to non-Kuwaiti workers.

Egyptians are on top of the list for labour workforce with 451,000, followed by Indian workers at 437,116 workers. Kuwaiti workers came third with 430,128 workers.
