Expats thank Kuwait for an outstanding job to curb coronavirus
The State of Kuwait has been recognized by many other Gulf countries for taking the best precautionary measures to combat coronavirus.
With increased social awareness in the fight against coronavirus, Kuwait has taken firm measures to safeguard its citizens and expatriates. The Health Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Dr. Basil Al- Sabah asserted keenness to do all in power to maintain the country’s health security and protect it against the new disease while being in contact with World Health Organization to receive updates about the COVID-19 outbreak.
The World Health Organisation has also praised Kuwait for the measures the country has been taking to combat and contain the spread of coronavirus. Key to their success so far has been the decision to respond aggressively from the outset.
Kuwait became the first country to stop commercial flights from entering the country, as well as the lockdown of malls, restaurants and schools till March 29, were major steps taken.
There have been several joint inspections by Manpower authority, Municipality inspectors and Interior Ministry and Kuwait medical staff have been tirelessly working and providing, by all means, to secure the nation from this crisis.
Meanwhile, the country gained international acclamation after the New York post commended the health measures which were taken at the Kuwait International Fair grounds the center set up for screening expatriates.
Under the directives of HH the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait has made a donation of 40 million dollars to the World Health Organization in support of its constructive efforts to combat the pandemic.
