Dubai now officially has the fastest police car in the world

Just this week, Dubai Police set a new Guinness World Record for having the fastest police car in the world, a Bugatti Veyron.

A delegation from the Guinness World Records met Dubai Police chief, Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri and handed him the certificate during the 11 Best Police Practices Forum on Monday, Gulf News reported.

The previous record-holder was the U.S. police patrol Lamborghini whose speeds reach an impressive 360 km/hr. The Bugatti Veyron boasts a speed of 407 km/hr.

The Dubai Police force has a very impressive fleet. It includes the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, the Aston Martin One-77, the Bentley Continental GT, the Ferrari FF, and the Maclaren MP4-12C.

The fleet has also garnered a Guinness record for the participation of 58 brands of lavish cars in a parade. The Dubai Grand Parade was led by the Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars in November, 2014.

This is definitely not the first time the UAE has a set a world record. In 2014, 16 records were broken, Emirates 24/7 reports. They include the largest fireworks display on New Year’s Eve and the longest bridal veil (Sharjah).
