Coronavirus Update: Chinese tourist drop-dead because of coronavirus in France
An aged Chinese visitor admitted in France has died from coronavirus, becoming Europe’s only fatality, French Minister of Health Agnes Buzyn said that on Saturday.
France reported 11 virus incidents, out of a total of 63,851 globally. The overwhelming majority of those infected with the infection are in China. About 1,400 people have died from the disease.
Buzyn said that she was told on Friday that the 80-year-old man, who has been diagnosed since January 25 at the Bichat hospital in northern Paris, had succumbed to coronavirus respiratory infection.
Almost 500 incidents existed in some 24 countries and regions outside of mainland China. There were three fatalities outside of China, with one in Tokyo, one in Hong Kong and one in the Philippines, until around the death in France.
